Child Voice Media
Human trafficking and the exploitation of children and youth affect the whole community. By reaching out, bringing people together and informing them of these and other local issues, we can take one step further in the struggle for better child rights and protection.
Child Voice TV – Mae Sai
Child Voice TV – Mae Sai is a project by the Mekong Youth Union Training Centre (MYUTC), based at the DEPDC/GMS headquarters in Mae Sai. You can access their videos on YouTube. Most content is in Thai or Burmese but we are working hard to add subtitles to some of our old and all of our new videos! Child Voice Radio
Child Voice Radio (CVR) broadcasts to Mae Sai and the surrounding area. Alongside the issues of human trafficking and forced labour, the shows cover everything from AIDS awareness to Thai cooking and cater for a wide range in musical tastes, from local traditional music to Thai and Western artists. CVR provides a unique opportunity for our children and youth to have their voices heard in the community. Most shows are call-in shows where DeeJays and DeeJanes take calls from the community live on the show.
On air from 7am to 9pm, six days a week, DJs present shows in Thai and English, as well as local hill tribe languages. Click on the image to the left to listen to CVR soundbytes at the Child Voice Radio SoundCloud! Alternatively, paste ‘http://soundcloud.com/child-voice-radio‘ into the address bar of your browser.
CVR is supported by Kindernothilfe (Germany).
Child Help Line
Child Help Line was set up in 2004 as a crisis phone line for children who are in need of help or advice regarding abuse, trafficking or exploitation. The line is open 24 hours a day and is also available to anyone within the community who is concerned about the welfare of a child. The number of the Child Help Line is 053 642 599 (in Thailand).
